Bank of Singapore has appointed Collins Chin as its new global chief financial officer (CFO), effective immediately. Chin, who worked for over 16 years at OCBC, the parent company of Bank of Singapore, will bring a wealth of experience to his new role.
Chin’s Journey at OCBC
Before taking on the CFO role at Bank of Singapore, Chin was head of investor relations at OCBC. He first joined the bank in 2009 as the head of group financial and management reporting. By 2013, he became the head of investor relations. His extensive tenure at OCBC has equipped him with in-depth knowledge of both the bank and the financial industry.
Chin’s Previous Experience
Chin’s career includes significant roles at other major financial institutions. Prior to OCBC, he worked at Royal Bank of Scotland, Standard Chartered Bank, and Barclays Capital. His varied background in global banking enhances his qualifications for the global CFO position.
Academic Credentials
Chin holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Nanyang Technological University. He is also a chartered accountant with Australia and New Zealand, adding further strength to his financial expertise.
Leadership Role at Bank of Singapore
In his new role, Chin will be a member of the bank’s global management committee. His appointment is seen as a key move to strengthen Bank of Singapore’s leadership team and support its continued growth in the competitive financial sector.
